Values

Science, Conservation, and Integrity through Sustainability, Advocacy, and Rehabilitation

Science: WCSL values evidence-based medicine in combination with humane care to rehabilitate wildlife, cultivate knowledge about public health concerns and safety regarding wildlife, and contribute to the scientific body of knowledge surrounding wildlife science as a whole.

Conservation: WCSL is committed to the conservation of native Utah species by rehabilitation of injured, orphaned, and ill wildlife for the return to their natural habitat.  When connections are made between human-wildlife conflict and human impact by community members, ecological sustainability is benefited.

Integrity: WCSL uses words and actions to support the surrounding community in pursuit of a powerful and compassionate relationship between humans and native Utah species.

Values Achievement: Our values of Science, Conservation, and Integrity are attained by using evidence-based learning and education to advocate for native Utah wildlife and wilderness, with an overall goal of sustainable environmental, financial, and people practices.  This is achieved through connections made with community members regarding injured wildlife, inspiring the action of individuals to champion Utah and its gifts.
