Wildlife Center of Salt Lake is permitted for birds of prey, songbirds, and small mammals. If you have found an injured, ill, or orphaned wild animal, call us at 801-800-1776 for more information or visit the UDWR Wildlife Rehabilitators page for rehabilitators closer to you.

Please note: we are unable to take some waterfowl/waterbird species, invasive species (pigeons, house sparrows, and starlings), racoons, fox, coyote, and game mammals (deer). If you are unsure, call us to help identify the animal in question and we can direct you to the best resource.

Wildlife Center of Salt Lake does not have the resources to perform animal pick ups at this time. If you are interested in funding an off-site pick up program, please reach out to us at info@wildsaltlake.org or donate here.

Before taking any action with wildlife (unless there is an immediate, life-threatening situation) please contact the appropriate authorities (listed above). Wildlife authorities including licensed wildlife rehabilitators have specific knowledge about species behavior and needs and can direct you further.

Wildlife veterinarian, Heather Barron, does a great job explaining how we can leave wild animals in the wild through care and observation. This video was provided to us by LafeberVet.
